I believe students should be allowed to use their phones during school, as long as there are reasonable rules about when and how they can be used. Phones can be useful for checking information, communicating with parents in an emergency, using educational apps, and keeping track of important things. The problem isn’t necessarily the phone itself—it’s how it’s being used. Instead of completely banning phones, schools could set specific times when students can use them and have consequences for using them when they’re not supposed to. This teaches students responsibility while still allowing them to have access to something that can be useful both inside and outside the classroom.
