Their peak earning window are low, with the high opportunity costs -- college is their primary stage to capitalize their brand and influence. They also risk severe physical risk of injury to create legendary moves to help the university to gain recognition and enlarge sports revenue, thus they definitely deserve a direct share of the revenue.

Most students receive full lecturing, tutoring from TAs, joining student associations to learn but athletes commit full-time on dedicated training, battling on the field, and risking their physical health when opponents interfering them on the match. This substantiates that athletes have sacrifice significantly more than ordinary students. For those students who choose to become student instructors, universities also pay they weekly wages or directly free their tuition. Then it is more legitimate for athletes to obtain the housing and tuition waiver.

I am surprised that a full scholarship is huge for the university to fund their sustainable practice hours and potentially their potential to gain the university better future in terms of college life and recognition.
