Sure, brain implants might help some people with serious conditions. But once you've got a chip in your head reading your thoughts, who's to say it stops there? Imagine that data being mined or hacked. That's a door we can't close, and that outweighs the good.

Okay, so you argue about hacking. What I want to say, memory like, chip will be just acting as a device to store information. That means you have to click it for you to access it or store the information from the other devices. Either from your phone or computer. Comparing chip and our thoughts: one is conscious while the other you have to put in information, such as video, and writings. So a chip cannot monitor our thoughts but they will be just acting like a place of control used by the chip owner.
