AI is currently dominating humans, which has nearly resulted in humans receiving a 10-year prison sentence because of how powerful it is. Currently, AI can easily harm the human race because it can shut down services, businesses and society in general.

I think my opponent gets it wrong when they assume AI is mostly just going to cause harm. Sure, bad stuff could happen, but people usually find ways to use new tools for good too. I don't know, I just can't shake the feeling AI will help more than hurt.

I heard most people already use AI every day without noticing. My opponent may have a fair point about AI shutting things down, and I am not sure how to argue that. I still just feel it will help more overall.

Let us check the long term effects. Although people use AI every day, people are getting less reliant on themselves and on AI. This diminishes the human ability to work, and that their work can be useless. Take school for example. Students use AI to cheat and most students choose this option.

My strongest point is just that people tend to turn new tools toward good over time, though my opponent makes a fair point about damage. I am not sure how to argue back, honestly. I still feel AI helps more than hurts.
