Working should be mandatory in homeless shelters to anyone who can, because it can train homeless people for finding a job later, and take less money from taxpayers and the working class. Homeless people should have to pay for their own shelters, it makes sure no one sleeps on the street, while also balancing fairness. The minimum work needed should be the amount that can pay for their own housing, and food, any extra work will be stored in cash, to help people in shelters to find a better life later.

I would rather have people work than having people sleep on the streets. And for illnesses, working can be paused temporarily, which is why I said anyone who can work should work, not every single person. Shelter should be a temporary place for people to find better jobs, not a confortable place for someone to spend their entire lives inside

That is exactly why I said anyone who can work should work, not literally every single person. Illnesses can heal, most don't last forever. Illness is an exception, not the rule. And the government should make it so no one sleeps on the streets, even if it means putting pressure to those inside shelters. Everyone being given a place to live creates the greater overall good.

Leaving is their own choise, government can't force them to be in. But what the government can do is put the most amount of people inside shelters, with more shelters provided for everyone, it would be better than the current system, even if some give up and leave, most would stay. And making it feel like job center is a good thing, not a bad one. the porpuse of shelters should be a temporary place for people to stay, and find a better work later, not a place for someone to live forever. The current system helps people live inside the shelter, but leaving and finding a better job is extremelly difficult, because without some cash, surviving outside the shelter is difficult. The current system keeps people stuck in shelters forever, which is bad both economically, and also to the homeless people who will never have the chance for anything else in their lives . Mandatory work can also serve as job training.

Truely losing everything and being in shock all of a sudden is extremelly rare. and even if someone truely lost everything and is in shock, they will still choose work over sleeping on the streets and waiting a long time to get in. Homeless shelters can also offer mental support for those who need it, and immediately after losing everything is when someone needs that kind of help the most. the goal is not to have everyone truely work every single day, it is for training, fairness and future opportunity. Missed work for rare cases can be made up later.

There is a diffirence between needing a moment to rest and being able to live like that forever. It is correct shelters should consider some exceptions, mental and physical illnesses, and challenges a person who just came in would face. But most mental and physical challenges do not last forever, homeless poeple not only need help in the shelter, but also need help leaving the shelter, the current system does nothing in making sure anyone can leave. And even with the challenges someone might be facing, it is better to go to a shelter, and have a place to solcialize and get therapy, instead of being in the streets, hungry, cold and lonely. The main goal here is to help people leave the shelter, place a roof over more people's heads, without taking more from the taxpayers

breathing first is diffirent from staying that way forever, now, homeless people rely too much on shelters, can it makes leaving a shelter very difficult. Not everyone has to work every single day, they just have to work and pay for their own stay, while also earning extra money and job experience that can be used later. The current system is both unfair to homeless people and taxpayers, because the working class is giving free money to the homeless people who are not working or giving anythign back. and only some homeless people can get inside shelters, while others have to be on streets
