I think we can both agree that college athletes put in a lot of time and effort, and they deserve to be recognized for that. But paying them like professionals isn't the way to go, in my opinion. If we start paying college athletes, it's going to change the whole dynamic of college sports. It'll create a system where athletes are more focused on getting paid than on getting an education, which is supposed to be the main reason they're in college in the first place. And that's not what college is about. Plus, it's not like they're not getting anything out of it already - they're getting a free education, which is worth a lot of money. I just don't think paying them on top of that is necessary or fair to other students who aren't athletes.
