I get that Iraq has a lot of instability, and neighboring countries worry about that. But I just don't see Iran as some puppet master pulling strings. Iraqis make their own choices, and blaming Iran feels too simple. That's my gut feeling, though I can't really back it up.

Ali's right that there are pro-Iranian groups, I can't deny that. But I still feel like Iraq's government makes its own calls. Having influence isn't the same as controlling everything. Maybe I'm oversimplifying, but that's where I stand.

Imagine an Iraqi leader making a tough call for their own people, not because Tehran whispered it. Sure, Iran has friends there and some groups rely on them, but that doesn't mean every decision is theirs. Ali makes a fair point, but I still see Iraq as its own country, messy as it is.
