So we're supposed to believe that banning something is the only way to protect kids? That's not how we handle any other risk in life. We teach kids to cross the street, we don't ban roads. Social media is the same deal. The real danger isn't the platform itself, it's the lack of digital literacy and parental guidance. Banning kids under 16 just pushes them to unregulated spaces where they'll have zero supervision. Plus, for a lot of teens, social media is their main connection to friends, support groups, and even educational content. I'm not saying there aren't real risks—bullying, misinformation, predators. But a blanket ban ignores nuance. We should be investing in better education, better platform design, and better parental controls, not just shutting the door. That's lazy policy, not real protection.
