Where do we draw the line if we just let everyone juice up? Look, I get the appeal — we all want to see faster sprinters and bigger home runs. But allowing PEDs doesn't just level the playing field, it completely flips the script on what we're actually watching.
The whole point of pro sports is witnessing human achievement. When you allow performance-enhancing drugs, you're essentially legalized cheating. An athlete's genetic makeup and years of hard work become secondary to who has the best pharmaceutical cocktail and medical team. That's not sport, that's just a chemistry experiment.
And don't tell me everyone would have equal access. That's just not how the real world works. Rich teams and athletes would get the cutting-edge stuff, while smaller-market players get left in the dust.
There's also something messed up about the message it sends to kids. We'd be telling them "winning is everything, even if you have to inject yourself to get there." That's not the world I want to live in. Let's keep sports about skill, not pharmacology.
