I get why people worry about insider trading, but banning all stock trading feels like overkill. Most officials are not secretly trading on secrets, and forcing everyone to dump their investments just because a few might cheat seems unfair. Better disclosure rules might work instead.
we can not force people to do investment in particular stocks, becuse they have their own sense and awreness about trading.so if they invest into then that is their personal choice
The other side assumes most politicians would cash in on secrets, but that’s not really true. Yeah, there’s some risk, and you make a fair point about conflicts. Still, banning everyone’s trading feels like punishing all for a few bad apples.
Look at how the STOCK Act already forces politicians to report their trades publicly. That transparency catches real wrongdoing without taking away everyone's freedom. I still see your point about conflicts, but I just can't shake the feeling that a complete ban is too blunt an answer.
