College sports already give athletes scholarships and exposure, and that seems like a fair deal. Paying them on top of that just feels like too much to me. I know it's not a perfect argument, but it's how I see it.

Well providing monetary incentive can encourage other people who wants to join sports. It can motivate them to join and earn a reward that they can benefit from

Picture a student getting free tuition, housing, coaching, and a national TV stage just for playing. My opponent says that isn't enough, and maybe there's a fair point there, but it still feels like a pretty good deal to me. I can't really argue it better than that.

Before participating in any sport events, athletes need to undergo a very strict and exhausting practice to increase their chances of winning. And that effort deserves a reward, knowing how tiring it can be.

The other side thinks money is the main reason people join sports, but I think love of the game and free school already motivate plenty. That said, my opponent's point about rewards is fair, and I am not sure how to argue against it. Still, paying players just feels wrong.
