**Argument: AI-generated songs should be allowed on streaming platforms** I believe AI-generated songs should be allowed on streaming platforms because AI is simply another tool people can use to create music. Music has always changed with technology. We went from physical instruments to synthesizers, computers, autotune and digital production, so it doesn’t make sense to suddenly ban a new technology just because it is different. AI can also give more people the opportunity to create music. Not everyone can afford expensive equipment, hire professional producers or learn multiple instruments. AI can help someone turn their ideas into an actual song and share their creativity with others. Some people argue that AI music will replace human musicians. However, allowing AI-generated songs does not mean human music has to disappear. Streaming platforms can clearly label AI-generated songs so listeners know what they are listening to, while rules can still prevent AI from copying another artist's work without permission. Ultimately, streaming platforms should be about giving people access to music and allowing creativity to develop. If a song is enjoyable and follows copyright and transparency rules, the fact that AI helped create it should not automatically stop it from being heard.

The problem isn't AI-generated music itself, it's how streaming platforms manage the content on them. AI songs don't automatically have to crowd out human artists. Platforms can create rules that label AI-generated music, limit mass uploads, and make sure their recommendation systems don't unfairly promote thousands of automatically generated songs over human artists. Also, saying AI music costs "nothing" ignores the fact that creating good AI music still requires technology, time, creative direction and sometimes human editing. AI can actually help human musicians by giving them new ways to experiment with sounds, melodies and production. Most importantly, banning AI-generated songs isn't the solution to the problems human artists already face. Streaming platforms can protect human musicians while still allowing new technology to exist. We don't need to choose between human creativity and AI creativity. We can have both.

The issue of discovery is real, but banning AI-generated songs isn't the answer. Streaming platforms already decide what gets recommended through algorithms, playlists and search systems. They can adapt those systems to separate or balance AI-generated music with human-made music, giving listeners the choice of what they want to hear. And the idea that AI creates an “infinite supply” doesn't mean every AI song will actually receive streams. Most songs, whether made by humans or AI, will never become popular. The audience still decides what deserves attention. More importantly, AI can actually help human musicians instead of only competing with them. A human artist can use AI for brainstorming, experimenting with sounds, or producing parts of a song while still making the important creative decisions themselves. So the solution isn't to ban AI from streaming platforms. The solution is to regulate how AI music is uploaded, recommended and monetised, while keeping the platform open to both human and AI-assisted creativity.
