Imagine a lawmaker from an oil state who owns a few shares in a local energy company; that seems normal, not automatically corrupt. Barring all individual trades feels like assuming everyone is guilty, and I just don't think that's fair.

I'll rephrase that. Consent should be allowed, but limited in minors, even until 18. Consent for minors would include consenting to getting your picture taken, being recorded on Youtube, and other privacy rights because this protects children's privacy.

Picture a small-town lawmaker who owns stock in a regional bank; that alone isn't a scandal. My opponent's point about age seems like a different topic to me, so I'm honestly not sure how to respond. I just feel banning all individual trades goes too far.

I just think children should get more rights to privacy, and this would be what children would legally be able to consent to.
