Sure, the NBA's tweaked back-to-backs, but they're still flying 50,000 miles a season. That's not sustainable, and tinkering around the edges won't cut it. A shorter season means fewer flights, period.
And the NFL comparison is actually fair here. Different sports, sure, but the principle's the same—when every game matters, intensity goes up and ratings follow. The NBA's identity doesn't have to be "let's play until everyone's limping." It can be "let's make every game count." Fewer games, better quality, smaller carbon footprint. That's a win.
