Imagine a patient with an ectopic pregnancy, where a fertilized egg implants outside the uterus. There's no way to save that embryo, and leaving it means fatal bleeding. Calling abortion murder would make standard, life-saving treatment a crime. My opponent's right that fetal life has moral weight; I take that seriously. But murder is a legal and ethical term for unlawfully killing a person, and a first-trimester embryo isn't a person with rights under law. Medicine works with probabilities, thresholds, and bodily autonomy, not absolutist labels. That's why I'm against.
