Imagine someone who barely follows the news being forced to pick a candidate just to avoid a fine. That vote is basically a coin flip, and it feels wrong to make people participate. I just think voting should be a choice, not a requirement.

의무투표는 특정 후보를 강제로 찎으라는게 아니라 투표 행위 자체를 의무화한거라서 무효표를 행사할 수 있어. 그래서 동전 던지기식 선택을 강요했다는 주장은 성립되지 않아.

A surprising fact: a lot of nonvoters say they skip elections because they feel uninformed. My opponent makes a fair point about turnout, and I am not sure how to argue back. Still, forcing a clueless vote just feels worse than leaving it a choice.

My opponent gets wrong that an invalid ballot makes forced voting okay. If someone has to show up or pay, they may still pick someone just to feel done, and that is not real consent. I guess the other side has a fair point about participation, but it still bugs me.
