Imagine someone who already knows a lot about policy just from doing the job. Banning them from trading seems like it might just push activity into blind trusts or spouses, which does not really fix the trust problem. I am not sure, but I lean against a flat ban.

Picture a lawmaker whose spouse quietly buys stock in a company that lawmaker regulates. Even with a ban, that kind of thing can still happen. My opponent makes a fair point and I cannot really argue back, but it still feels like the rule just moves the trades around.

so p1) will be to be a moral patient you must be part of the morally relevant set. p2) to be part of the morally relevant set you must have qualia and human essence. c1) the fetus before 24 to 28 weeks lacks qualia therefore itt's going to be permmissible to terminate it's life

Imagine a lawmaker's adult kid buys stock in a company that lawmaker oversees. My opponent probably has a fair point that a ban looks cleaner, and I am not sure how to argue back, but I still feel a flat ban just pushes trades to relatives or trusts. That is my gut.
