Picture two surgeons. One studied for a decade, logged thousands of hours, and has a 98% success rate. The other scraped through med school on a quota system. Under equality, you get either one for your heart surgery. That's not fair, that's a death sentence. Equality treats outcomes as if effort and skill don't exist. It tells the lazy kid he deserves the same as the hard worker, and it tells the hard worker his labor means nothing. Society runs on merit—incentive, accountability, excellence. Prioritizing equality just levels everyone down to mediocrity and calls it justice. That's a con.
