Isn't it possible that reboots actually push creators to find new angles? I just feel like Hollywood has always recycled stories, and there's still plenty of original stuff out there. Maybe it's not killing creativity, just changing where we look for it. I don't know, that's my gut.

But doesn't every era have its share of remakes? You make a fair point about new filmmakers getting crowded out, and I'm not sure how to argue with that. I still think creativity finds a way, even if it's in the margins. Maybe that's just me hoping.

We have only scene this scale of reboots in the modern era, in the golden age the recurring themes were with actors. Like John Wayne in westerns, if creativity is in the margins then Hollywood has failed to do the thing it was created to do. Make entertaining and creative movies.
