How can you prove to us that we should eliminate every mosquito when male mosquitoes don't bite humans for blood, and some mosquitoes help pollinate plants? Other animals also eat mosquitoes, so what could happen to the food web if mosquito populations decrease? Not every mosquito spreads disease, and not every female mosquito spreads the same diseases. So why not focus on the specific species that spread diseases instead of treating every mosquito as a threat? We understand that genetically modified mosquitoes may help reduce disease, but where is the evidence that the specific release is effective, safe, and properly monitored? If we want to protect human health, shouldn't we also make sure that the environment is protected?
