Driving is the same category error you are telling me I'm doing. An official is acting through his social power and has a different dynamic rather than a normal citizen. Even if they both act as private individuals, they do not have the same social status and can influence decisions which affect more individuals than driving. All things aside, if a soldier is not in the uniform, or someone from the Romanian Jandarmerie is in public, he still cannot endorse political opinions, even if he is out of work. Reason? He is part of a service that is for the state and for the people, not for specific politicians or parties.
