Yes, phones and laptops are portable devices so there can be in any place and accidental damages happen more in portable devices than normal devices, and they should have easily replaceable batteries so it can be used for a long period, most people don't want new things sometimes people just want to keep using the stuff they already own instead of buying a new product just because it is broken and it is very expensive to repair and just buying a new product is better choice, this is a trap laid by companies so we the customers buy the latest products instead of keeping their older models.

I get why the other side wants easily replaceable batteries; it sounds convenient and less wasteful. But I still feel like that would make phones thicker and less sealed, so they break easier. I am not sure how to argue it better, honestly.

well the thickness is something that we need to accept but for sealing we can use cases that we can buy seperately.

A surprising thing is sealed batteries helped phones get water resistant. My opponent makes a fair point about waste and repairs, and I honestly can't argue it away. I still feel replaceable ones would make phones chunkier and flimsier.

Imagine a commuter dropping a phone into a puddle; a case does not keep water out of the seams. The other side is fair that cases help, but I just feel sealed batteries survive real accidents better. I am not sure how to explain it.
