Picture a city council picking someone to rewrite its harassment policy. One candidate says women deserve the same standing men have always had, and wants to close that gap. The other just dislikes men and wants them to lose. Only one of those produces rules anyone can live under. Feminism is a claim about equality, and it can be argued with, tested, and held to its own standard. Misandry is just resentment aimed at half the population. Resentment can't build anything; it only picks targets. So the feminist is better, because a principle you can reason with beats a grudge you can't. My opponent has to show otherwise.

Picture a hospital asking whether to hire a doctor or someone who just hates sick people, and calling it a tough call. That's this debate. Feminism argues for equal treatment; misandry is just contempt aimed at men. Asking which is "better" assumes they're the same kind of thing. If that were true, then any prejudice would be comparable to any liberation movement, and we'd have to seriously "weigh" racism against the civil rights movement. That's absurd. You can't rank a goal against a grudge.

And here's the thing, my opponent's category error point is fair, ranking a movement against a grudge is lopsided. But that lopsidedness is my case, not theirs. The same equality framework that says men deserve protection too is what funds male victim services. Misandry can only ever say men deserve it. A principle that protects the other side wins.

The other side's right that feminism can be argued with and misandry is just resentment. But take that logic seriously. If being arguable is what makes something better, then any calm, well-argued ideology beats messy, righteous anger. A politely written supremacist pamphlet would outrank a woman furious about being harassed. If that were true, this stops being a debate about equality and becomes a debate about tone. And you still can't crown a movement "better" than a prejudice, any more than you can crown medicine better than a disease.

My opponent says a calm supremacist pamphlet would beat righteous anger under my logic. But feminism condemns supremacists too; misandry gives no standard to condemn anyone. The other side's disease versus medicine point actually helps me: we don't rank the disease, we prefer what treats it. So the feminist is better because equality treats the wound; misandry just resents the patient.

My opponent's CDC stat is fair, and I'll grant it: feminism has funded shelters that men actually need. But run their own logic forward. If protecting the other side is the test of "better," then any framework gets graded purely on what it does for men, and the debate stops being about equality and becomes a scoreboard. A stat about shelters doesn't make ranking a movement against a grudge any less lopsided.
