A universal basic income policy would either cost tax payers too much money or cut into other government funded programs. Not too mention the very high possibility of Americans becoming reliant on it, for example the Americans that have generations living on EBT. Also, even if we did find the money to allocate for this UBI, landlords or similar expenses would just raise prices wasting tax dollars and resetting us back to square one.

If you dont know how to pay for it then why are you arguing for it? We cannot simply print more money, that would devalue the dollar and cause horrible economic issues and consequences. People wouldnt need a safety net if they just worked for their money and lived within their means. Giving everyone the same thing, this "safety net" sounds very communistic to me.

Those are two completely different arguments. Instead of printing more money, or pulling money from other reserves we should go after the corporations and monopolies that cause high prices and taxes on necessary items. We crush the problem at the root cause instead of trying to build a ladder over it. I agree the government should have a reserve of stimulus for Americans in absolutely DESPERATE situations like times of war, when the economy can be destabilized and jobs can become scarce. Giving money away wont fix the issue, but make it worse.
