Even if small models run on phones, someone still has to train them, and that takes massive data centers. So the giants won't disappear; they'll just move behind the scenes. I just don't see them becoming obsolete in five years.

Actually, The Giants takes more time to use, and even if it takes someone to train small models, it takes more time to proccess the Giants; Though the results may be rewarding, the Time is known to be 2-4 months, whilst even the smallest of AIs take a few minutes to an hour, whilst still operating on a precise motion. Though, the Giants may still be factually standing, The Small AI models are still faster to create at certain situations like Problem-Solving.

That time thing is a fair point, I guess. But practical everyday use matters more than speed. If I want deep, reliable answers on hard questions, I still trust the big models. Five years just feels too soon to swap that all out.

I personally view that Giants will become obsolete sooner than 5 years.
And that Small AI models will overtake them for their processing takes the same time as the Giants, acting like a pseudo version of the Giants, and to make them even more useful, like you said, we can make them inside a cellphone, whilst the Giants use Large, Enterprise Grade GPUs, whilst the Small AI models can be immediately made with small programming tools like Python and even No-code platforms for beginners.

Honestly, you make a decent point about how easy they are to build now. But the practical thing is, people use AI for important stuff like medical or legal advice, and I would not trust a phone model for that. Giants have the depth. That is still my gut feeling.

I trust the small AI models more, as I can even make use of them more efficiently in my everyday life even outside my house, even inside my house, giving the simpler yet succinct answers to my questions, But I'll have to admit, even I'd need to use the Giant AI models too, If I were to need an answer for something complex.
