I didn't choose the brushstrokes. I didn't wrestle with the lighting. I didn't make a single artistic decision beyond picking some words. Compare that to someone who spent a hundred hours learning color theory, mixing paints, and failing until they got it right. Giving both the same award cheapens the human struggle and skill behind real art. Let's define what an award actually is. An award recognizes skill, intent, and creative effort. When I type a prompt into an AI, the machine does the actual creating. I'm making a choice about what to request, sure, but that's not the same as making art. It's closer to commissioning a piece from an artist and then taking the credit. AI art removes almost all of that. The human element is reduced to a text prompt. That's not enough to deserve an award that someone else spent years of their life training for.
