I believe smartphones belong in schools because these smartphones can be utilized as to explore information across the textbooks, across what the teachers discusses to us. So, these smartphones are useful in school to, just like what I said earlier, it will be used to browse information that are beyond the knowledge of the teacher and the textbook. It also allows students to be critical thinkers as they will be able to evaluate the contents on the smartphones. So I do believe that smartphones belong in schools. Even in research, we use smartphones because the institution or the school somewhat have a shortage on the computer lab. Not all of us can access the computers on the computer lab. That's why smartphones are very useful for students in schools. Hello? Okay.

I'd argue from first principles: learning requires sustained attention. A smartphone's design maximizes interruption. Therefore, a smartphone in class undermines learning. That's the practical consequence. The other side will cite safety and access, and those are fair. But schools already have office phones and supervised computers, which meet those needs without giving every student a personal distraction device. So the stronger policy is keeping phones out during class.
