My personal opinion on this is yes they should. Specifically because the question is worded to state "finish works". Obviously the artist is no longer with us but did consent to be a part of the project. Projects can be destroyed by the loss of one contributor and so many people can be effected by one person that if ai prevent it and finish a project the artist was already on. Go for it.

Art doesn't specifically pertain to music though. Think of how many scenes had to be tweaked when Brandon Lee died on the set of crow and the significant amount of time and money lost as they scrambled to finish that project in an age before a.i. technology. How much could they have saved and how much closer to the original directors vision could it have been with that technology?

I understand my opponent doesn't like the way it feels. However that is a matter of opinion that can change from one individual to the next. If you prefer no a.i. than look at the original no rendered versions only. Some people love to see what may have been possible. With both options available I have to say yes to the use of a.i. to finish as people deserve to choose what they prefer and not be pigeon holed into a single opinion
