My against For the use of AI, whether it is allowed to use in academic assignments or not, well, in that case, I would be very against it due to the fact the assignments are not there to assign the AIs. it is there to assign the students who will be giving the assingments or homework or the task, whatever you say. With that said, I have two points. My first point is, assingments must measure the student, not the tool. If AI writes the essay, two students with the same answer may know the concept in different amounts. if the student got to know the 20% of the whole concept the other student might know the 80 or 90 of it Therefore the marks would stop meaning anything Therefore the degree would lose their value And thoose same degrees are provided to the students which they show their real ability If the degree has no value then the students themselves have no value in the end of the day My second point is, the use of AI is very much unfair. Also, it is very unreliable. Some students can pay for the best AI tools while others cannot. Many chatbots invent facts that sound convinces and students may not notice it. There is a certain trend that is going on. It is called AI hallucinations. It happens when the AI acts right. It is true but it is not true. They do not recheck their facts, which makes the student to believe in a false sense of factual statements which are not true at all. And over the time, relying on it destroys critical thinking and writing. The very skills of education should be built. With that said, I am closing with, in conclusion, use AI to learn but not to be assessed, protect fairness, protect honest efforts and keep marks meaningful. Thank you.

You have a great point of the first statement. True, if a student is using AI to understand the concept, then writing it themselves, that can be a tool. However, we need to teach the students to use the AI for greater good purposes rather than cheating. however If the students get the encouragement of finding a way to cheat through exams or through assignments, then it will cause more issues. So, maybe not banning it is fine. However, we should restrict the amount of how much a student can use or abuse the authority of using the AI for their own purposes. In this case, a cheating purpose.

Saying an AI is another study tool is a very wrong way of putting words through in. It's more than a study tool. It can be your everyday work helper. It can be your design tool. And it can be much more. It is a very pervasive tool. So, restring it and saying it that the AI is just for study tool, no, I don't think that's right. It depends on how the user wants to use it. So if a student decides to use it for the cheating, then AI would just do that. The wouldn't care or the AI wouldn't have any moral or ethical values to restrict themselves on providing the answer of the assignments. It varies on the student. It is the student themselves. We need to teach the students to make them understand that whatever we are using on the AI, it's just for the conceptual purposes, not for the... Homework solving purposes.
