Look, I get why people see potential in crypto. The idea of decentralized finance sounds good on paper, like a beautiful skyscraper blueprint. But here's the thing — the actual building is built on a swamp. When you zoom out and map the whole landscape, you see a system designed to extract value from latecomers.
Most NFTs are just links to JPEGs on broken servers. Most crypto projects have no real revenue, no product-market fit. They're propped up by hype and the hope that someone else will pay more. That's not a market, that's a shell game.
The numbers back this up. Over 95% of NFTs are now worthless. Bitcoin's price swings are driven by whales and exchanges, not organic adoption. And every major crash exposes the same pattern — insiders cash out while retail holds the bag.
I want to believe in the vision, I really do. But when you look at the data, it's hard to see this as anything other than a giant, well-marketed scam.
