Ever since we are born, we learn in many ways, and there are two things associated with learning:
1. The theoretical part
2. The practical part, or applying the thing that you just learned
Now, homework is kind of a thing that helps you test the things that you learned, and if you do not do it, then how do you expect to know if you really learned anything?

Homework forces families into hours of unnecessary screen time that drives up home energy use. We know from PISA data that once you get past about an hour a night, extra homework produces essentially zero academic gains, yet it keeps routers, laptops, and lights burning in millions of households every single evening. For a planet in a climate crisis, that's waste we can't afford. Time spent on worksheets is time kids aren't outdoors, moving, sleeping, or just being kids. We can cut homework entirely and lose nothing educationally while meaningfully reducing energy demand. If the learning isn't there and the planet can't afford it, then it shouldn't exist.
