I think yes, college athletes should be paid because many poor developing nations, people who play sports usually come from poor backgrounds and so they have no family incomes and they are not able to afford things. So I think they cannot afford things even for their basic necessities of life. And also when you play a sport you need supplements so that you can recover faster and be in a state of competitive edge. So, those supplements are itself expensive and also sports, when you play any sport, there are high chances of injury and to prevent those things you need a physio a sports physio which also requires money out of your pocket So I think that that is also important to know that you can be a sports physio which also requires money out of your pocket So I think that is also important And also when you play or in any sport there is a factor of uncertainty always in the back of your mind. Even one slight injury can result and can evolve into a much severe problem as you go on in your career. It can end your career in just a few minutes. A few minutes of devastating injury can end an athlete's career. So, I think they should be paid because having to deal with this much uncertain factors, there should be some kind of backup so that they don't have to worry about their future and they can focus on playing at the best level they can.

I mean, yeah, it would be the case that most college athletic programs actually lose money. But think about it. Are you doing a business or are you nurturing a child's or a person's future? I think that we should think more deeply about than just losing money or just the economic part of it. Because first of all, if I look at it from a purely investing point of view, then you are investing in people. And investing always comes with uncertainty. You are not always sure that you will make money. For example, if Warren Buffet decided to stop investing just because he lost money on some of his investments, then he would not be the person that he is. So I think that investing always comes with uncertainty and we should always keep that in mind by creating any program. And that is the money part of the thing But think about it Is it morally right to bring a capitalist mindset when you are designing a program for students who are going to represent your nation Just forget the nationalistic part of the thing. Just think about it from a purely ethical and moral sense. If a person wants to do something and he needs money, you give him money because you are capable enough to help that person so that he can achieve or he can do what he wants to do. I think that the point of development is the whole economic development is so that people of the nation can do what they do. And if we as adults are not able to support students who want to do athletics and worry about losing money, I don't think that economy or that program or we as humans qualify for, we as humans have evolved much than our ancestors. The whole point of development will go to just sync if we just think about saving some mere cash.

I said that, yeah, it is fair that from an economical point of view, when you make an investment, then you do not expect returns on every single investment that you do. But because of that fact alone, you don't stop investing. You actually keep investing because you know that if a single student who is studying in your college gets a good sponsorship from a team or gets selected in a good team, then it is the win of the community as a whole because that student is able to live up his dream. And I think that is the whole point of development and being a developed country that every citizen of your nation has been given equal opportunities. So if you just get fixed on this rigid mindset of not being able to earn on every single investment, then I think that is stupid and that is unfair to the child that is in your college.
