This all sounds good if you are to put it in the mechanical sense. But this goes beyond the mechanics, the physical parts, the programmed creations of technology. The older we get as humans the nearer we approach our death/ the end of our lifespan (ideally). Therefore the matter we are considering here goes beyond physical needs like food, medicine, soft beds, water, e.t.c; it transcends to the metaphysical, the psychological and the emotional. All components of which we cannot quantify and cannot be comprehended by robots. Look at it this way, as we approach our ends as humans, physical needs are no longer a priority, emotional connection to other humans, someone to interact with in our last moments on earth, someone to have a discussion with on faith and God, someone to psychologically prepare us for our near end and give us emotional assurances in the same regard. All of the above cannot be provided by a robot in fact, a robot does not have the capacity to comprehend th in a way that a human would. Some interactions can only be done human to human, no shortcuts Hence when even the toughest decisions, choices, questions, answers have to be tackled or conveyed no robot can do but a Human. Hence giving the robot such a responsibility and us trusting its ability to do so is 'NOT ETHICAL'

Of course, if we are to frame it as a duty sharing matter, diving the mechanical to the robots and the non-mechanical to the human. That will indeed be great, especially if the line between duties is clearly laid. That I'm in support of. However if we are to give an overall assessment as was inquired by the argument itself, we will have to consider first the overall perspective and then redact from there giving exceptions to allow the robots to be used in line with those exceptions. Thus in the overall sense, using robots in elderly car is 'NOT ETHICAL'. However if we are to put in exceptions l think it's ethical to use robots anyway even including in elderly care. So it's a matter of whether you are looking at it Overally or only to specific situations with exceptions. And l decide to look at it overally

I understand where you are coming from. I watch a comedy series on my TV, my mood changes and l feel good. I watch an emotional video on my phone l feel sad. I see a tree that fell on my grandpa, l feel angry. But the manner here is not solely on mere current state of feeling such as happy, lonely or anxious at the moment because you have not received any visitors. From my first paragraph, you can see that anything can have an emotional impact (or as you put it 'emotional value') but only to a certain extent and ability. It's not whether you provide emotional impact, it's about to what extent and in what manner It's not just about giving the elderly a dopamine boost for a day or two, it's about preparing them for the journey into the unknown, and that transcends any feeling of mere distractions we elude ourselves with to pass the day. In the end it's about faith, belief, meaning and conciliation with oneself and in this sense robot are in all regards not the right tools or means.
