The most practical consequence of my side is simple: the alternative to social media isn't a harm-free childhood, it's exclusion. For a lot of young people, especially isolated or rural or queer kids, these platforms are where friendships, support, and creative work actually happen. Take that away and you don't get a protected kid, you get a lonely one. The harms your side names are real, but they're mostly harms of degree, not kind. The question isn't whether social media can hurt youth, it's whether the net is positive, and for many it clearly is.
