Did you know Finland's UBI experiment didn't boost employment at all? Recipients just felt a bit happier, but they still didn't take jobs. If UBI doesn't actually help people get back to work, it's just a costly handout that ignores why people are out of work in the first place.

I think we can all agree that nobody should be left destitute, and a strong safety net matters. But handing everyone cash doesn't fix the real reasons people struggle, like unaffordable housing or lack of good jobs. It just papers over the problem and costs a fortune we don't have.

Why should a person who works two jobs have to fund a check for someone who decides to stay home? That doesn't reward effort, it just makes laziness easier. UBI sounds kind, but it drains money from people who actually contribute, without solving the real problems.
