Privatisation and Deindustrialisation has destroyed the UK

No, the neoliberalism that Margaret Thatcher initiated whilst she was Prime minister have clearly brought ruin to the British economy and these Neoliberal policies have lead to most of the problems the British are facing today such as the migrant crisis. Privatisation has lead to a higher cost of living and lower quality of life for the average citizen for example the privatisation of Water with firms like Thames water taking control of the supply of water to homes has both lead to a higher cost for water and the water being of a much lower quality for British citizens. As well as that things such as the Right-to-buy scheme have been instrumental in the modern housing crisis due to the buying up of old council homes and the selling of them for far more than they were originally worth. Deindustrialisation on the other hand has lead to the destruction of many jobs in areas such as the north and caused Britain to rely on cheap imports from the third world and also stay dependent on the American economy meaning in the event of political disagreements with nations like China, which Britain relies on heavily for their goods, it would leave the British economy in certain doom. This has lead to only the south of England being to maintain a net positive cash flow whilst the North and Scotland and NI have been dealing with a net negative cash flow and therefore living standards there are awful compared to areas like London
