Bollywood has put intermissions in three-hour movies for decades, and those audiences are as emotionally hooked as anyone. Hollywood's own golden age did the same: Lawrence of Arabia and Ben-Hur shipped with intermissions and nobody calls them momentum killers. So the "symphony" argument is fair in theory but fails in practice. Directors already build the break into the structure. The other side says make shorter movies, fine, but when a story genuinely needs three hours, a seven-minute pause is respect, not sabotage.
