Think about a commuter dictating a note on a phone. The transcription might run locally, but that model was trained on thousands of GPUs in a datacenter, shipped down as an update, and the text still syncs to every other device. That's the pattern: on-device AI handles the inference, the cloud handles training, updates, storage, and coordination. Show me peer-reviewed evidence that local inference eliminates the training and serving infrastructure underneath it, and I'll reconsider. Until then, the cloud isn't dying; it's just moving further out of sight.
