Jumping into space mining feels like we're repeating the same mistakes, just on a cosmic scale. The technology to do it safely and responsibly doesn't exist yet, and the rush to get those metals could end up destroying unique resources we haven't even studied. Sometimes the smartest move is to pump the brakes.

I get what you're saying about it being cleaner than Earth mining. I really do. But I watched my uncle lose his job when a mining company moved operations overseas, chasing cheaper extraction. Corporations aren't known for restraint. You think they'll suddenly develop a conscience in space? If the profits are huge, they'll cut corners.
