College athletes should be paid considering the amount of effort and work that is put in to make sure that they do wrll for their school. Many athletes suffer severe sometimes fatal injuries. My point being that if a school wants them to perform well they should at least cover the cost of training as well as physical and mental well being.

That is a very common misconception which is just being taken at face value. If colleges don't pay athletes, what is the point in them taking part in the first place, it ruins focus in school and can be deadly. If they are paid they would have more reason for taking part. Even within your statement you say that you are not even sure how it all works, then why are you doing this debate in the first place. If students are paid when they finish college they could just as easily become proffesional and give some of their wages to the school.

As I mentioned before if an athlete decides to become proffesional they can easily donate their money back to their colleges. You keep saying that it should be about the school and not the salaries but what about the students. What about the students who go play and can potentially die? They risk it all for the game and the win and for what, the school? You even say that you don't know how to argue, that is proof enough that my (FOR) case is solid.
