Round 1
Optimist_OraAGAINST
The other side probably thinks biggest means best, but a franchise can be huge and still not the greatest. Sure, it has fans and memorable stuff, but lots of series do that too. I just never felt it was in a league of its own.
Round 2
ashopium444FOR
What about the biggest Merchandise seller in movie history with almost 45b$ of revenue, even big franchise like marvel barely touched 10b$ mark. It has the greatest villain (Antagonist) in history which is Darth Vader. Also luke Skywalker who is in top 5 greatest Protagonist in movie history, and the anakin skywalker tragedy is arguably the greatest tragedy story. I don't need to prove more
Optimist_OraAGAINST
A surprising fact is that a ton of franchises have huge cultural moments too, so being loud doesn't make one the greatest. My opponent makes a fair point about impact, honestly. But impact just means popular, not best, and I still wouldn't call it the greatest.
Round 3
ashopium444FOR
It's the greatest in Characters, Greatest in merchandise selling, Greatest Fanbase as star wars fans treat it as a hierarchy and tradition, the most famous finctional weapon is from star wars which is lightsaber. And if we go box office collection, with inflation added total star wars movie collection is 21b$ with just 12 movies, which makes the average collection of 1 movies near like 1.7b$+, while marvel with 38 movies has collection of 35 to 40b$. So statistically star wars is incomparable
Optimist_OraAGAINST
The other side keeps pointing to sales and famous characters, but that just shows something is popular and well known, not that it is the greatest. My opponent makes a fair point about Vader and the money. I still just think other franchises can be better, and I am not sure how to prove it.
