I think the other side gets wrong that direct pay is an easy fix. College sports feel like they're supposed to be about school pride and teams, not salaries, and money would just change that whole vibe. I'm not sure how to argue it better, but that's my gut feeling.

A surprising thing I heard is that most college athletic programs actually lose money, so there is not much profit sitting around to hand out anyway. My opponent makes a fair point about fairness, and I admit I cannot really argue back. It still just feels wrong to me somehow.

It feels wrong due to the "loss" of human life. What people forget is how the mother got there. Imagine your sister, lets call her Jenny. She was forced by the goverment to implant cells in her body to create a super soldier. However, she will die, a very painful death. Abortion is a choice for people who have none. It is health care.

Is turning college sports into just another paycheck really what we want? My opponent makes a fair point about fairness, and honestly I cannot argue back well, but it still feels like paying players directly would wreck what makes college sports special. That is all I have.
