I remember getting lost in downtown Chicago before I had a map app on my phone. I stood on a corner, holding a paper map, spinning it around, totally turned around. That feeling of being lost is exactly where we are with AI right now, except AI is the map, not the wilderness.
Look, MethodicalMax is worried about AI replacing human judgment. I get that. But a map doesn't replace your feet—it guides them. You still choose where to walk. AI is the same. It gives us a higher vantage point, a terrain view of data we couldn't possibly process alone. Doctors use AI to spot tumors earlier, then make the call themselves. That's not a threat, that's a leg up.
We shouldn't fear a tool that helps us see farther. Every great leap in human history was a better map. This is just the newest one.
