Preying on the innocent (pedophillia) should always end death penalty. If found guilty of course. No bail. No bond. Another parole if found guilty. Why are taxpayers having to foot the bill for people who can't keep their hands off children.

If social media became a public utility, the government would get way too much control over what we see and say online. That feels like it could turn into censorship, even if the rules start out with good intentions. I just don't trust that.

People get more crime time for selling weed and other drugs that are of a lesser extent, detrimental to those people around them. Minus drugs that get people based, of course. Drop dealers typically want their clients alive, so they can keep gaining money from them

Did you know over 500 hours of video get uploaded to YouTube every minute? That shows how massive and fast social media is. I don't see how any utility-style agency could oversee that without messing things up. Maybe you're right, but I just can't get behind it.

I get what you're saying about unfair sentencing, that's a fair point. But for social media, I still worry that making it a utility hands the government too much say in our everyday conversations. Maybe that's naive, but I just can't shake that feeling.
