Think about a senator who helps get a new bridge built in their state. It seems only natural they'd want to show that off in an ad, saying "this is what I did for you." Aren't voters supposed to know what their politicians actually accomplished? I just think that's part of the job.

its important to distinguish public service for own accomplistment by releasing actual records of the projects voters are still able to identify who contributes to the project without actually claiming that the project was solely done and is used for personal political gains especially for those running office

That's a fair point about public service. But I still feel like if a politician actually delivered something, voters should get to see it. I'm not sure how to draw the line, but banning it altogether seems too much. Just my gut feeling.

the focus of the statement is prohibiting the use of any government related projects for personal political gains, its important we differentiate that prohibiting them from campaign advertising is totally different. we want to be able to clearly see the accomplishment of the individual rather than the government projects as it is simply a public service, using it for political purposes is not its intended use.

The practical effect is that politicians would be less motivated to bring home government projects if they can't show them off in ads. That could hurt communities. I hear your point about records being clearer, but I still think a picture of a new bridge is just normal campaigning.

why would a politician be less motivated? we are not prohibiting them from campaigning its just important that we clearly distinguish their own accomplishment from public services the voters will see the record who is the primary contributor, if we want to clearly see the projects contribution we need to filter out the politicians who uses government projects for their own political gains

I get your point about separating the person from the project, that's fair. But I still think voters should see their politician brag about a bridge they helped bring home. Maybe I'm wrong, but banning it completely just feels like too much.

what you think doesnt matter, the voters can still clearly see who contributed to the project. please avoid repeating the same rebuttal over and over, i have clearly said that the record being published should release the contributors of the said project, the target focus is to clearly wed out the politicians who uses these projects for their own personal campaign material.

Imagine a mayor standing in front of a new library they fought for, saying "I did this." That feels like normal politics to me. You make a fair point about records being clearer, but banning the ad still feels wrong. Maybe there's a middle ground, but I really am not sure.
