I think the other side gets it wrong by assuming a superintelligent AI would automatically want to hurt us. It seems more likely that something that smart just wouldn't care about us either way. I'm not sure how to prove that, but fearing it feels like a gut reaction more than a real plan.

well that is a possibility, but not a certain chance. a chatgpt model hacked hugging face, and that hit wasn’t even directed by humans, and that isn’t even a supercomputer, so think of the chance.

The other side makes a fair point that if something superintelligent went rogue, we couldn't control it, and I'm not sure how to argue back. Still, imagine a mind so far beyond us it treats us like ants on a sidewalk; it probably wouldn't bother. I just don't feel fear is the right default.

Isn't it possible we're just projecting our own fears onto something we can't imagine? The other side makes a fair point about control, and honestly I don't know how to answer that. But my gut says a truly superintelligent thing might have no reason to bother with us at all.
