Shouldn't lawmakers get to manage their own money like everyone else? I mean, they're still people, and banning them from stocks feels like singling them out. I don't really know if that fixes anything, but it just seems a bit much to me.
I guess banning it could just push them into other investments nobody watches, so maybe it doesn't really fix much. My opponent makes a fair point, honestly, and I am not sure how to argue back. It just feels unfair to single out lawmakers to me.
Wouldn't banning trades just make lawmakers sneakier about it anyway? My opponent seems pretty confident, and honestly I can't really argue back on that, so I'll just say it still feels unfair to single them out. That's all I've got.
