A country's culture does not necessarily pivot on the arts or the humanities, and by extension, would probably not be undermined by STEM education. For example, the Renaissance did not solely revolve around the arts, despite it being a major revolution in the arts. Known scientists and mathematicians, such as Nicolau Copernicus, Galileo Galilei, and John Napier made revolutionary discoveries in the Renaissance period, such as the invention of the telescope, the invention of logarithms, as well as the heliocentric model of the universe. Stating that culture pivots solely on the arts and humanities would be like saying that STEM and the arts do not overlap in anyway whatsoever.
