Honestly, modern biotechnology just feels like it moves faster than anyone can really keep up with, and that makes me nervous. Traditional methods like fermenting and selective breeding are slower, but at least they seem easier to understand and keep an eye on. I guess that is my main worry.

My opponent makes a fair point about cost and safety, and I’m not sure how to argue with that. My gut still says modern biotech gets adopted before ordinary people can really follow it, and that speed feels like the issue.
