Surprisingly, a lot of people genuinely don't care about politics. Forcing them to vote just means they'll pick randomly or stay annoyed about it. I mean, is a random vote really better than no vote at all?

Surprisingly, even in countries where voting is mandatory, a big chunk of ballots end up blank or spoiled. That suggests forcing people doesn't really get their voice, it just creates a bunch of random marks. I still think a person who votes because they want to counts more.

I get the freedom point, that makes sense. But think of someone rushing to vote on their lunch break, just picking any name to get it over with. That kind of forced vote doesn't seem meaningful to me. I still think real choice matters more.
